Riesling was the dominant Australian white grape. From the 1980's this
popularity waned as Chardonnay came to the fore.
The last few years have, however, seen a recovery in the fortunes of Riesling. Australia is now producing dry, fruity, citrus-toned Rieslings that actually age well and mature.
