2003 Athelstan Merlot

Winemaker’s comments

The small yield from the first vintage of a block planted in 1998 was blended in with fruit from older merlot plantings, for this wine. A pronounced cinnamon spice dominates the nose, while mulberry and black plum fruits enrich the palate, with tannins carrying the wine to a smooth, long finish.

This wine is produced in very small quantities (only c200 cases at a time) - stocks are very limited.
