Morambro Creek
Morambro Creek wines is a family owned and operated business with
wine produced from fruit grown on the Bryson family property in the
premium grape-growing area of Padthaway – the gateway to the
Limestone Coast region of South Australia
The vineyard currently has 125 hectares under vine with further
expansion occurring this year. The latest vineyard practices are
followed, no insecticides are used and with good natural climatic
conditions and low yields the vineyard consistently produces
excellent fruit quality. The region enjoys a Mediterranean climate
which provides optimum ripening conditions enhancing the full
flavours of the berries.
The very best parcels of fruit are carefully selected throughout
the vineyard and utilized in the Morambro Creek label. The grapes
are left on the vine until the berries have achieved maximum depth
of colour and flavour. Open tank fermenters are used in the
fermentation process (Shiraz & Cabernet Sauvignon varieties)
which allows for hand plunging of the cap (skins) as well as pumping
over. This is done two to three times a day for an extended period
to extract maximum colour and flavour from the skins. The wine is
fermented and matured in new and aged French and American oak
barrels. Great attention to detail with the integration of oak and
fruit flavours helps produce classic wine styles.
In 2004 they introduced a 'second label' - Jip Jip Rocks. This
wine has already won many awards and admirers.
